Dodgers Finalizing Trade for Max Scherzer & Trea Turner: How LA Pulled off Blockbuster Deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly finalizing a blockbuster trade for Nationals right-handed pitcher, Max Scherzer and Nationals All-Star infielder/outfielder Trea Turner. We react to the news and discuss what it means for the Dodgers. Plus, LA is expected to be sending top prospects Keibert Ruiz and Josiah Gray back in exchange to complete the blockbuster deal.

You’ve seen the rumors and read the reports, the Dodgers made some elite moves as Andrew Friedman looked to firmly entrench himself as the GOAT of all GOATS around the league.

All told, Freidman surprisingly didn’t break the farm system in this deal. Sure, LA traded its number one and two prospects, but those prospects come from areas where the organization remains deepest. Pitching and catching.

The move should become official just shy of the 1 pm PT deadline and soon after we welcome two of the best players in the game to the best team in the game.
