Dodgers Game vs Dbacks: Mookie Betts Moves to Second Base, Muncy Out of Lineup, How to Watch

After last night’s 10-1 beat down of the Arizona Diamondbacks powered by Trayce Thompson’s 3 home run night and a dominant Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers look to take their first series of the year this afternoon at Dodger Stadium. Dave Roberts hands the ball to Noah Syndergaard for his Dodger debut. He’ll face veteran right-hander Zach Davies.

Let’s take a look at the lineup.

  1. Mookie Betts, 2B
  2. Freddie Freeman, 1B
  3. Will Smith, C
  4. J.D. Martinez, DH
  5. David Peralta, LF
  6. Trayce Thompson, RF
  7. James Outman, CF
  8. Chris Taylor, 3B
  9. Miguel Rojas, SS

Somewhat wholesale changes lineup wise. Max Muncy is out of the lineup one night after getting grazed by a baseball down there. Miguel Vargas gets his first game off of the season and Chris Taylor gets the start at third base. Mookie Betts, as Dave Roberts said last night, is starting at second and “uno, dos, Trayce” Thompson is back in the lineup after a 3 home run night.

Here’s the lineup that Arizona is sending out.

On the pitching side of things, Syndergaard looks to put his final two spring training outings behind him and get his Dodger career off on the right foot. He owns a 2.45 lifetime ERA against the Snakes.

Next, the Dodgers welcome the Colorado Rockies to LA for two games before heading out to Arizona for the first road trip of the season.

First pitch is at 1:10 pm PST, and you can watch it on Spectrum SportsNet LA, or listen on AM570 LA Sports Radio in your car or on the iHeartRadio app.

  1. It is this year that we will see the true value of Roberts as a manager. And it didn’t go well for him.
