Dodgers: Gavin Lux Goes Viral For the Wrong Reason
Baseball is a funny sport. it has the ability to make you feel on top of the world one second only to be crushed the next. But the good news for Dodgers fans is that the game ended the way they wanted it to on Thursday night.
The Dodgers came out swinging and put a 14 runs on 24 hits against the Dbacks. Mitch White got to start and toss four shut out innings to help give the bullpen a rest. It was everything Dave Roberts could’ve hoped for.
But there was one play that caught the attention of national media. and it came from a guy that has a knack for going viral on the internet. That’s Dodgers’ infielder/outfielder Gavin Lux.
It happened on the play in the top of the third inning when Mookie Betts blooped a single into right. Lux rounded second and took off for third on the play. The outfielder came up firing and nabbed the Dodgers utility man at third.
But it was the tag that caught the attention of everybody at home. Josh Rojas made a great player to keep the ball in front of them and even put a glove on it to get him out. But the tag placement was…unfortunate.

But the good news is that Lux came out of it healthy. He stayed down for a few moments and the Dodgers tried to challenge the call on the play. The call was upheld, and they went on to dominate.
That’s using the old Ah, err, we’ll anyway, glad Lux is ok. On the other hand maybe it serves him right for making the 1st out of the inning at 3rd base!
