Dodgers: Joc Pederson Sets a New National League Record

As Joc Pederson got the rally started last night against Edwin Diaz and the Mets, he established a new National League record.

That’s right, Joc’s 16 home runs out of the leadoff spot before June 1 established an NL record.

Just a few weeks ago he collected his 100th career homerun, and after an offseason flush with trade rumors, he has done nothing but slug for the Dodgers.

In 2019, he’s taken his game to another level as he’s become arguably the best platoon player in baseball. He’s getting on-base at a career-high .372 clip this season, and he’s en route to his 4th career 25+ home run season in his 5th full season. His K% is at a career-low 18.9%. He is continuing to mature and become a complete player.

Most importantly, we confirmed that his sneaky Gatorade shower (wSGS+) game is pretty strong.

Joc Pederson:

He strikes out a lot. He gets on base a lot. And he hits dingers.

  1. You have gotta like Joc!!!! One could only imagine how many dingers he might have if management did not platoon him. Joc, Big Red, Belles, and AV form a nice nucleus, and that is why we win games. Last night’s game in particular was unbelievable. And when you watch it from central New Jersey at 1:30AM, you know its a good game. Kudos to Joc!!! Too many Dodger stalwarts wanted to part ways with him!!!! Go Blue!!!

  2. I’ve always liked Joc…BUT it seems the Dodgers have been trying to unload him for the past few years because…????…WHY??? This year he’s chasing Cody in Homers in how many less at bats???
