The Dodgers traded minor league outfielder Arnaldo Lantigua to the Reds for more international bonus pool money.
The Dodgers are reportedly signing Sasaki for a $6.5 million signing bonus. Between these two trades, it appears L.A. has more than enough to satisfy that promise.
MLB insider Francys Romero reported the Dodgers are receiving over $1 million in international bonus pool money. Between the two trades, they likely have somewhere around $7 million, potentially even exceeding that number.
If that’s the case, the Dodgers would be able to not just satisfy the Sasaki deal, but also potentially add more international prospects this signing period.
While the Dodgers initially asked their 2025 signees to hold off until 2026, they can now act to add more international players in the 2025 period with Sasaki locked up.
