Player of the Day – Chris Anderson
The Dodgers’ first round pick from a year ago had a rough start to the season, not getting out of the first inning in his 2014 debut. He bounced back in his second outing, with 4.2 innings while allowing just an unearned run, but he walked three and allowed five hits. In his third start, Anderson struggled again, allowing five walks in 3.1 innings. On Friday, his control wasn’t quite right, but he held Visalia scoreless thru 6 innings, his longest start of the young season. Chris needs to start throwing more strikes to elongate his starts, but this most recent start at least showed that he can overcome the lack of control to pitch deeper into games.
