Player of the Day – Scott Schebler
Last year’s organizational player of the year, Schebler came into the season needing to prove that 2013 wasn’t a California League mirage. So far, Scott has struggled a bit to make contact but is starting to turn things around. Through the team’s first 20 games, he’s hitting .231/.268/.487 with four walks and 22 strikeouts. However, he does have ten extra base hits, including six in his last six games. He needs to improve against lefties, as he’s batting just .150 against them so far. The 23 year old has obvious power but needs to show the ability to get on base at a more consistent clip.
