Player of the Day – Josmar Cordero
The 22-year-old Venezuelan got a late start to the season, debuting on May 8th, but has caught up quickly. After spending three years with the Dodgers’ Dominican club, Cordero made his stateside debut last season and batted .272 with the Arizona League affiliate. In 2014, he’s played four games and already has 11 hits. He already has two four-hit games. Josmar began his career behind the plate but is now primarily a first baseman, which diminishes his value. He’ll have to hit more to be a real prospect, and he’s off to a good start showing he’s capable of doing just that.
