VIDEO: Hanley Ramirez Hits Solo Home Run On Bobblehead Night

Due to a thumb injury suffered in the World Baseball Classic and subsequent surgery, Hanley Ramirez missed nearly the first month of the 2013 season. Ramirez’s first action in 2013 was a pinch-hit appearance on April 29 and he was in the lineup the following night, which was also the game where fans received a bobblehead with Ramirez modeled in his infamous “I see you” pose.

Jorge De La Rosa was on the mound for the Colorado Rockies when Ramirez stepped in for his second at-bat of the game. After grounding out in the first inning, Ramirez jumped on a first-pitch fastball for a solo home run in the third inning. Batting fifth in the order, the Dodger shortstop finished the game 2-for-4 with the home run and a double. Ramirez helped power the Dodgers to a 6-2 win that pulled them up to .500 26 games into the season.

Yasiel Puig will get the opportunity to match his teammate’s performance on his bobblehead night as the first 50,000 fans in attendance of Tuesday’s game against the Miami Marlins will receive a Puig bobblehead. Puig currently has a 12-game hitting streak and has a home run in three of the last four games, including a homer in consecutive games.
