Player of the Day – Alex Verdugo
First, a shout-out to Corey Seager and Julio Urias, who played in the Futures Game yesterday. Seager was 0-for-1 with a HBP and Urias worked a perfect inning with a strikeout. The future is bright.
Meanwhile Verdugo continues his excellent debut, reaching base safely three times and adding his third stolen base. He now has nine walks, eight extra-base hits, three stolen bases and just two strikeouts. All astonishing numbers for an 18-year-old who was widely considered a pitching prospect.
