Dodgers News And Rumors: Dee Gordon Not Affected By Recent Slump
When the Los Angeles Dodgers came to spring training, they had no set option for second base. Many were expecting new acquisition Alex Guerrero to take over. However, one person made their name stand out more.
Dee Gordon impressed the Dodgers’ staff enough to win the job over as the every day second baseman. Gordon was at one time rated the Dodgers’ top prospect, but was having difficulty finding a position he could thrive in. Gordon was a starting shortstop but was sent down to Triple-A after Hanley Ramirez arrived.
With the Dodgers are almost reaching the halfway point in the season, and Gordon has continued to impress both offensively and defensively.
Though he has since cooled a bit, Gordon began the season at an exceptional pace and has remained confident throughout his recent slump. Gordon currently leads the Majors in stolen bases and flashed the talent that allowed him to seize the opportunity that was presented to him at the beginning of Spring Training.
