Before the Los Angeles Dodgers faced the New York Mets on Tueday, reports surfaced the Albuquerque Isotopes were in the middle of the eighth inning when their game was briefly delayed after there was an altercation in the Isotopes dugout between Alex Guerrero and Miguel Olivo. The second baseman’s ear was reportedly bit off in the incident, and he had plastic surgery after the game in order to repair the damage.
Both players were replaced after the altercation, and Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said the organization was looking into the situation. Olivo was recently been sent down to Triple-A after A.J. Ellis returned to the roster, and Guerrero has been in the minors all season as he worked to improve his fielding at second base in order to prepare himself for the major league level.
