Dodgers News: Blake Treinen Hit Hard by Comebacker Against Texas Rangers, Exits Game

Los Angeles Dodgers top relief pitcher Blake Treinen exited the game today after a hard-hit comebacker hit him against the Texas Rangers.

Dodgers Insider and The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya reported via X.

Here’s a look at how it transpired.

Treinen got up after a few minutes on the ground and walked out on his own power.

The 35-year-old entered the game in the top of the fifth inning and only threw four pitches before exiting the game. It was his fourth appearance this spring and looked healthy after the shoulder injury that kept him out all of the 2023 season.

According to Juan Toribio of MLB.com, it’s a right rib contusion for Treinen. He is in the process of getting X-rays.

Hopefully, this is nothing to worry about as he will play a huge part in the Dodgers bullpen this season. He’s missed a ton of time already, the last thing the Dodgers need is for him to miss more time due to a freak comebacker.

We’ll update you on his status once there is one.
