Dodgers News: Bobby Miller Not Thrilled with Outing vs Royals
Dodgers RHP Bobby Miller had a much-needed start on Friday night against the Kansas City Royals.
Following back-to-back outings in which he was roughed up by the San Francisco Giants and Houston Astros, Miller settled in against the Royals, allowing three earned runs across 5.2 innings pitched in an eventual Dodgers 9-3 win.

He had eight swings-and-misses and threw seven pitches at or over 100 mph.
The Dodgers rookie wasn't perfect but he made progress after two rough outings.
Miller was by no means perfect, but he was much better on Friday than he was in either of his last two starts and was able to give the Dodgers a little more length. He likely would have preferred to finish the sixth inning, but still, he gave the Dodgers a start they needed.
Despite the win, the young rookie was pretty critical about his performance after the game.
“It was a little bit better. There was some good out of the game,” Miller said. “I feel like the line was a little better than I actually pitched. Still wasn’t super happy about it, but you know, it’s a win. I gotta take that I gotta be happy about it.”

As for what he thinks he could have done better?
“I still gotta get better out of the stretch. Wind up, I feel really good. Then two-strike pitches – 0-2, 1-2 – put-away pitches weren’t really there today. I left some of the offspeed up in the zone.”

You love this attitude from Miller, as the rookie has high expectations for himself every time he goes out and pitches.
Most people would be happy allowing three earned runs across 5.2 innings, but Miller knows he can be better.
Overall, it was a solid performance from Miller, and he’ll continue to work to improve as a consistent starter for the Dodgers. He’s earned himself a permanent spot in the rotation, so let’s see if he can fine tune those few issues before his next and final start before the All-Star break.
