Dodgers News: Brusdar Graterol is Absolutely Dominating Right Now

Even after a very heartwarming personal milestone having his mother watch him pitch live for the first time in MLB, Brusdar Graterol’s success on the mound as of late has been an equal joy to see for Dodgers fans everywhere.

Having his best stuff of the year this late into the season, the man known as Bazooka is firing on all cylinders with October just around the corner for the Dodgers.

The Venezuelan international has been one of baseball’s best relievers in 2023, continuing to lower his already sparkling ERA with his most recent run of dominance on the mound without allowing runs for an extended period of time.

Coming over in a trade during the 2020 offseason, Graterol’s introduction to the Dodgers has been quite the addition and this season is by far his best work yet.

The 25-year-old has been lights out for LA this year with a 1.26 ERA, likely earning consideration for the NL Reliever of the Year award alongside the Padres’ Josh Hader.

Though not a closer as that role has gone to Evan Phillips, Graterol has given him protection in the bullpen and has given Dave Roberts options about how to utilize him in the postseason.

Shattering each of his previous records of ERA levels above 3 in each of the past three years in the Dodgers bullpen, Graterol has become one of the most reliable arms for late inning leverage in the league this season.

Never a big strikeout artist despite his triple digit fastball, inducing soft contact to help his fielders gather easy groundball outs has been quite the weapon for the NL West champs once more.

Wishing to earn another ring in 2023 like he did in 2020, Graterol will be a key piece to such a quest in just a few weeks.
