The man they call Mariachi Joe has quite the fan base at Chavez Ravine. Reliever Joe Kelly, who infamously wore a mariachi jacket to the White House as the Dodgers were welcomed in recognition of their 2020 World Series championship, is set to get one of the more iconic bobblehead giveaways ever at Dodger Stadium.
Fans in attendance will receive an exclusive “Mariachi Joe Kelly” bobblehead tonight and it has led to a surge in ticket prices on the secondary market. Several fans took to social media to complain about the sky-high prices that saw no price under $150 to even sniff entry into the ballpark.
Fans arrived early to secure their bobbleheads and even waited in line to score a photo in front of the new mural that was recently painted by the great LA artist, Jonas Never.
The Dodgers face the Giants in the second game of a four game series to wrap up the regular season slate at Dodger Stadium. Thankfully ticket prices come back down to earth for Saturday and Sunday’s games, according to SeatGeek.com. Saturday is the annual “La Gran Fiesta” night and Sunday in fan appreciation day.
