It was released Monday morning that the Dodgers’ own Cody Bellinger has won the National League Player of the Week award for the week of May 1, to May 7, 2017.

According to Eric Stephen of True Blue LA, this is the ninth time that a Dodgers rookie has received the award.
Bellinger is 9th Dodgers rookie to win POTW, joining Cey, Fernando (x2), Maldonado, Karros, Piazza (x3), Nomo, Ethier, and Puig

In a week that included three home runs, including a grand slam that he hit out on an 0-2 fastball, Bellinger put up some gaudy numbers. Numbers that no 21-year-old should be capable of putting up at the major league level.

Cody Bellinger will be the Dodgers’ first baseman for the foreseeable future. It looks like he will have a permanent spot in the lineup as the newest member in Los Angeles.
