Dodgers News: Dalton Rushing Named to Minor League All Star Team
Dodger fans will get a chance to see Dalton Rushing, the Dodgers’ top pick in the 2022 draft, in action July 8 in Seattle for the 2023 MLB Futures Game. Rushing, who played college baseball at the University of Louisville, is the Dodgers’ only prospect named to the team.
Rushing is currently playing for High-A Great Lakes and is having a strong season, hitting .263/.438/.500 with 7 homers while playing multiple positions defensively. So far, Rushing has started a majority of his games as a catcher while making additional starts at first base and as a designated hitter.

The 22-year-old catcher is hitting .263/.438/.500 in High A this season.
Despite being drafted just a year ago, Rushing is already ranked among the top 100 MLB prospects. His swing is impressive as well as his arm; from his knees behind the plate, Rushing can throw on a rope to second base.
Last year, three top Dodgers prospects — Bobby Miller, Miguel Vargas and Diego Cartaya — played in the Futures Game, and now two of them have turned into consistent players for this Dodgers team. Rushing is still a ways away from making an impact at the big league level, but this will be an amazing opportunity for him to be around some big league-caliber players and show off his incredible skillset.
The game will be streaming live on Peacock with a replay set to air the next day (Sunday, July 9) at 9 a.m. ET on MLB Network.
