Dodgers News: David Peralta Seems to Have Avoided Major Injury

It has been a very injury-heavy season for the Los Angeles Dodgers. They have seen multiple players suffer tough injuries throughout the year, and it has forced them to rely heavily on their depth.

Thankfully, the front office has put together a strong team full of guys who are ready to step up when needed. It’s why LA finds itself toward the top of the league once again, and it’s a testament to how the Dodgers go about their business.

Over the weekend, it seems that the team has avoided major injury to one of their more solid contributors, outfielder David Peralta. Peralta fouled a ball off the end of his bat, and it looked to cause some discomfort in his wrist. He was then hit with a pitch and was removed from the game.

However, manager Dave Roberts provided a positive update on the veteran outfielder.

“Right when I saw it, I saw seams on the elbow. Immediate swelling,” Roberts said. “From what I hear the swelling has dissipated. We’ll see if he’s in there tomorrow but he said he feels pretty good.”

Per The OC Register

On the year, Peralta is hitting .271 with seven home runs and 50 runs batted in. Peralta has made his mark on this team in multiple ways this season.

His x-rays were negative, so the hope is that Peralta doesn’t miss much time, if any at all. He has been a strong presence for this ballclub all season long, so losing him would hurt.

While they may have some weaknesses, this team has learned how to win games in many different ways. It has helped them climb the ladder this year, when many expected them to take a step back in terms of on-field success.

LA can’t afford to lose any more players with the playoffs coming up soon. They need everyone available and ready to go if they want to reach their goal of winning another World Series.
