The Dodgers made an unexpected move today in sending Dustin May to the 15-day injured list. The initial report is back tightness for the right-hander. In a corresponding move, Andre Jackson has been recalled from Triple-A.

May has made six starts since returning from Tommy John surgery and has had mixed results. In those starts he’s gone 2-3 with a 4.50 ERA with 29 strikeouts over 30 innings pitched. The flamethrower was scheduled to pitch at least one more time this season — on Wednesday in San Diego — but now won’t be eligible to return until the start of the postseason.
Dustin May will not be eligible to pitch again during the regular season. Does NOT mean he can't pitch in the postseason. #Dodgers https://t.co/zXWPUwb9cw

Per source, Dustin May has a strained muscle in his lower back. The hope is it will clear up in time for him to be available for the NLDS
He's not eligible to pitch in regular season again bc of 15-day IL stint. Obviously, another very big question mark for LAD's pitching staff https://t.co/09nmnZPpQg

Jackson has made two relief appearances for the Dodgers this year, tossing 3 scoreless innings in those outings. The right-hander was just recently with the club but was optioned to Triple-A when Tyler Anderson came off the paternity leave list on Tuesday.
