Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman Happy for Normal Offseason Following Tumultuous Winter A Year Ago

After spending 12 seasons with a team, any athlete will assume that will be their home until the end of their career. Freddie Freeman redefined what it meant to be a hero of the city, earning the NL MVP, Silver Slugger and Golden Glove awards with the Braves, but then found himself on the Dodgers roster at the start of the 2022 season.

A whirlwind of an experience that led to a franchise record-setting season for the Dodgers, the excitement never stopped for Freeman. Now, Freeman is locked in to be with the Dodgers for five more seasons.

This offseason has been far less eventful for Freeman despite most of his beloved teammates finding new homes and landing his good buddy Jason Heyward in Los Angeles for the upcoming season. For any athlete, this is the ideal offseason as Freeman revealed to the media during Chris Taylor’s Drive for Hope charity event.

“It’s a lot more normal of an offseason for me this year. I know where we’re going to be. I got the rental house all ready to go. Our head athletic trainer came into our workout today, and talking to Doc four days ago, everyone is just really excited. We’re looking forward to it.”

Of course, Freeman has even more exciting news as he prepares to compete in the World Baseball Classic.

“I’m going to be there a few days earlier than normal, because of the WBC. I got some of my enemies here tonight in Mookie on Team USA, but it’s going to be fun. I had so much fun in 2017 playing in the WBC so I’m looking forward to being on the Canadian team again.”

Freeman gets a chance to take a deep breath as the Dodgers’ front office continues to work. An offseason any superstar is happy to have.
