Dodgers News: Gavin Lux Carted Off Field Monday With Injury

On Monday, Dodgers starting shortstop Gavin Lux was carted off the field with an apparent right leg injury. Lux was trying to avoid a throw running to third base, and seemed to stumble and hurt his right leg. He wasn’t able to put any weight on it, and was carted off the field.

Here’s a video of the Lux injury.

This is obviously the last thing anyone wanted to see. Lux was primed for a huge season as the team’s starting shortstop, and was a big piece of the team’s plans this season.

Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman said the team didn’t know anything yet when leaving the clubhouse at around 3:30 p.m. local time (2:30 PST).

We don’t want to speculate on the injury, and will continue to update you when we know more.

But for now, we can say it didn’t look very good, as Lux was unable to put any weight on his leg and was carted to the clubhouse. Let’s hope that it wasn’t as serious as it looked in the moment.

  1. Management have been idiots all off season. Among many other stupid moves not to keep certain players, I absolutely cringed when they didn’t do everything in their power to sign Trea Turner by putting all their eggs in one basket with Lux. Now Taylor will play the ss position and what happens if he gets hurt? I guess management must be happy because now they won’t have that backlog of players jostling for the outfield with Taylor moving to the infield. Hate to think or say it but last year was the Dodgers best chance for a WS ring (you know, the one Roberts “guaranteed”) and this year is going to be a bust but not to worry ownership and fans, since the team will continue to lead the majors in attendance, regardless.

  2. RKH might be right. The depth the Dodgers had just last season, has evaporated! I heard Robert’s on with Dan Patrick…before Lux went down. And damn if he didn’t “guarentee” another World Series victory. When will he ever learn? Quit while you’re behind Skipper!! ??????
