Dodgers News: Gavin Stone Optioned to AAA, Recently Acquired Pitcher Added to Roster

The Dodgers announced a roster move ahead of Monday night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. First, Sunday’s game winner Gavin Stone was optioned to AAA after a 6+ inning effort against the Red Sox. To fill his roster spot, the club is adding recently acquired Tyson Miller to the active roster.

The Dodgers begin a 7 game homestand where they were hoping to welcome reliever Joe Kelly back from the IL. On Sunday, Dave Roberts shared that Kelly has a bit of a setback and may not return until later in September. More details here. With no Kelly, and Yency Almonte still out with a knee injury, the LA bullpen is down on healthy arms.

This is Miller’s second tour of duty with the Dodgers who took a detour through New York with the Mets for most of the last month. He was re-claimed off waivers on Sunday and now joins the team back in LA for what could be a relatively short stint on the active roster.
