Dodgers News: J.P. Feyereisen’s Status For Spring Training Revealed
Before joining in on the DodgerFest celebration on Saturday, J.P. Feyereisen threw a bullpen session at Dodger Stadium , exciting news after the pitcher missed all of 2023 recovering from shoulder surgery.
Feyereisen updated reporters, including Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, on his progress Saturday afternoon:
The reliever last pitched in 2022 with the Tampa Bay Rays and was a solid arm out of the bullpen. In 22 games and 24.1 innings of work, he didn’t allow an earned run.
Los Angeles had one of the better bullpens in the second half of last season and if it wasn’t for that, the Dodgers wouldn’t have climbed their way to another division title.
With Feyereisen’s return, the Dodgers are bringing back an arm that posted an ERA of 1.99 and a WHIP of 0.98 over 72 games in 2021.
It might take some time for the right-hander to find his form from a couple years ago, but his addition will add more depth to an already solid group of relievers.
