Dodgers News: Jonny DeLuca Exits Tuesday’s Game With Apparent Injury
The injury woes are continuing for the Dodgers. On Tuesday, rookie outfielder Jonny DeLuca was forced to exit the game in the bottom of the eighth inning while running to first base.
He pulled up gimpy, and immediately reached towards his right hamstring. He spoke with trainers in the dugout and was replaced by Yonny Hernandez.
First things first, we hope for the best for DeLuca, who’s getting an opportunity right now with the Dodgers due to their lack of right-handed bats. However, with the addition of Kiké Hernández, it was possible that DeLuca would be heading back down to the minors.
Obviously, you never want to see someone get forced to go down with an injury, though, so hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked, and DeLuca is able to get back as soon as possible.
We’ll continue to update on this story, but for now, if DeLuca is forced to miss time, the Dodgers’ need for a right-handed bat will only continue to increase.
Hernández is expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday, but DeLuca’s spot may need to be replaced.
