Dodgers News: Justin Turner Remains Out of the Lineup With Injury

The Dodgers kick off a 3-game series against the Nationals starting tonight in Los Angeles. Tony Gonsolin will get the ball for LA, looking for his 12th win of the season. He faces off against Paolo Espino, who is coming off of an outing in Atlanta where he gave up 3 runs in 5.1 innings.

Dodgers fans will also get to see Juan Soto again, someone who is high up on the fanbases wishlist for the deadline. But they’ll have to face off against the Nats without Justin Turner, who is out of the starting lineup once again. JT missed the weekend series against the Giants with abdominal pain.

During the game on Thursday night, the Dodgers pulled Turner out of the game late. Dave Roberts later added that they would take it day-by-day to determine when he could return. The team had Turner taking some swings and doing “rotational stuff” on Sunday afternoon.

The Dodgers will go with Max Muncy over at the hot corner once again with JT out. He’s played pretty good defense, even though he continues to struggle with the bat. He went 1-for-14 in the series against San Francisco, striking out 5 times and earning a pair of walks.

With the number of games missed, it will be interesting to see the route the Dodgers go with JT. They don’t exactly have many options at third base, but there are a few names on the 40-man roster that could fill in should he need a trip to the IL.
