Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Exits After Taking Ball Off Forearm

In the 8th inning of game two of the three game series against the Red Sox, the Dodgers took Miguel Rojas out of the game a half inning after the shortstop took a bit of a beating stopping a baseball thrown by Will Smith on a stolen base attempt. The ball hopped awkwardly and caught him hard on the right wrist.

He was spotted grimacing in pain while shaking out his right hand but stayed in the game to turn a smooth inning ending double play in the top of the 7th.

At the time of his exit, it’s unclear whether he was removed because of the injury or just to get a better hitter at the plate with the Dodgers chasing 7-4 entering the 8th. The move worked for Dave Roberts as pinch hitter David Peralta doubled to right to put the team in position for a comeback in Boston.

Rojas was 1-3 in the game with a single in the 4th inning.
