Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Welcomes Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani to the Team With Special Gift

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a plethora of new players on their team for the new and exciting season. Many of them will play a significant role for the team, but none may be bigger than the two Japanese sensations, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani.

Both players garnered a ton of money this offseason, and deservedly so. They are the new kids on the block and are sure to take the Dodgers over the top. Because they are new, Dodgers veteran infielder Miguel Rojas gave them a special gift. Yamamoto shared the gift via his Instagram.

Ohtani received the same thing. Rojas spoke to OC Register’s Bill Plunkett and shared his message to his new teammates and why he gifted them what he did.

Rojas also told Plunkett that he asked Dodgers’ star first baseman, Freddie Freeman, for wine recommendations. The choice was a cabernet sauvignon from Quintessa.

Sounds quite fancy.

Rojas was once the new kid coming into the Dodgers back in 2014 from a different country. It takes some time to adjust, and he hopes to make the transition as smooth for his new teammates.

Although Yamamoto and Ohtani are new to the team, you could argue they are the best players on the team. Between the two, the Dodgers spent $1.02 billion. One is a proven commodity, and the other is unproven in the league but has all the tools to be the next great pitcher in the league.

Some may not agree with the amount of money the Dodgers spent on these two. However, the team is confident they will be worth it, while fans are optimistic.

It may take some time for these two, especially Yamamoto, to adjust to Los Angeles and the major league rules. But there’s no denying their talent and the impact they’ll have on the Boys in Blue for years to come.
