Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Praises LA’s Front Office for ‘Amazing Job’

Through all the trials and tribulations that the Dodgers have seen this season, they still remain one of the National League’s best teams. The team has been tested all season long with different injuries to key players and inconsistent performances, but they have found ways to weather the storm to the best of their abilities.

This is a testament to the front office and the coaching staff for keeping a good vibe throughout the clubhouse and putting the players in the best possible positions to find success. It hasn’t gone unnoticed by anyone involved, and even star Mookie Betts is thankful.

“It’s hard to win in general,” Betts said in response to a question about the Mets’ struggles. “I think the front office has done an amazing job putting a really good product on the field. I would give a lot of the credit to our coaches and analytics department, they do an amazing job at preparing us. But a lot of credit to the guys. We’re playing for each other, we take the info and we have a really good camaraderie.”

Betts is correct here because throughout Major League Baseball you can see plenty of examples of organizations that have no intention of trying to win games. For all the criticism that the Dodgers have taken over the years, they are consistently one of the better teams in the league. They normally do what it takes to win even though it hasn’t resulted in multiple championships yet.

The results on-field show that their system works. It’s not perfect but it works well and sometimes can be taken for granted.

“Just because we wear this uniform, the Dodger uniform, doesn’t mean that it’s an automatic win,” Roberts said. “There’s a lot that goes into winning ballgames. From the hitting, the at-bat quality, the defense, guys buying in, we have that. I knew it was gonna come at some point where we were gonna get some traction and fortunately we’re playing good baseball.”

Per The LA Times

The team has gone through some uncharacteristic adversity this season and at least so far, they have overcome it. But despite all the frustrations of the season, they remain a top contender. Maybe the adversity will do them some good at the end of the year unlike last year when they coasted to the playoffs and then were bounced out rather quickly.

The team still has the trade deadline coming up as well so they can make some changes to the roster to give them a better chance in October. This team could be scary come October due to the struggles they’ve seen but it’s also up to the front office to go out and make some upgrades now.
