Dodgers News: Rich Hill Set to Make Padres Debut Sunday Against LA

The Los Angeles Dodgers are finishing up the third and final game of their series against the Oakland Athletics on Thursday before heading to San Diego for a huge four-game series against the surging Padres.

The Padres are coming off a huge series win in Colorado where their offense exploded, and they’re looking to make a late season push coming out of the trade deadline.

At that aforementioned trade deadline, the Padres added an impressive five players, including someone Dodger fans are very familiar with in LHP Rich Hill.

And Hill is officially with the Friars, and set to make his debut this Sunday against his former team. Padres GM AJ Preller made the announcement on Thursday, via Marty Caswell of Sports760.

Hill has had an interesting year in Pittsburgh this season, sporting a 4.76 ERA in 119 innings. However, he’ll be extra motivated on Sunday, not only because he’s playing his former team but because he’s getting his first opportunity to make a good impression with his new squad in front of his home fans.

Additionally, that game will be on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN, so the entire country will be watching.

Hill will definitely be bringing his A-game for San Diego, so the Dodgers should be ready for a competitive division battle.

It’s going to be weird for the Dodgers to see Rich Hill in a Padres uniform, but they’ll have to get over that quickly as they try to take him down on Sunday night.

As for the Dodgers, the team is yet to announce their starting pitchers for the series outside of Bobby Miller on Friday. We’ll see who Hill will be up against in that Sunday Night matchup.
