Dodgers Schedule: August Matchup Against Padres Flexed to Sunday Night Baseball
The Dodgers and Padres will finally match up again on the first weekend in August. By then we may be looking at significantly different versions of these times from the last time they faced off back in early May. August 1st is trade deadline day and game one of this series starts on August 4th. The Dodgers are certainly buyers at the deadline but the Padres find themselves on the fence while in 4th place in the NL West and well outside of the NL Wild Card picture.
Nevertheless, fans can watch the two clubs face off in another national broadcast with ESPN carrying the series finale as part of Sunday Night Baseball. Karl Ravech, David Cone, and Eduardo Perez along with Buster Olney will be on the call at Petco Park.
The Dodgers have 5 wins in 6 games against the Friars this season. San Diego’s lone win featured a controversial moment after the game when the video board at Petco Park displayed a meme of a crying Clayton Kershaw. The Padres lost 5 consecutive games to LA after that moment.
Following the series, the two teams will meet up only once more in 2023 for a 3 game set at Dodger Stadium in September.
