Dodgers News: Ryan Yarbrough Offers High Praise for Tyler Glasnow
If there is anyone on the Los Angeles Dodgers who can provide insight into Tyler Glasnow, it’s his former Tampa Bay Rays teammate Ryan Yarbrough.
At DodgerFest, Yarbrough spoke candidly about Glasnow and what fans can expect to see from him.
After five and a half seasons with the Rays, Glasnow was traded to the Dodgers with outfielder Manuel Margot. He signed a five-year, $136.5 million contract extension, making the trade official.
The southern California native pitched a career-high 120 innings last season, striking out 162 and walking 37 batters. He went 10-7 with a 3.53 ERA during the regular season.
Glasnow has struggled with elbow issues in years past. He underwent a procedure commonly known as an InternalBrace repair, which requires a shorter recovery period than the typical Tommy John.
He returned for two starts in 2022 and pitched in 21 games in 2023. The Dodgers are paying Glasnow as a top-of-the-rotation starter, and if Yarbrough’s insight is correct, he sure will be.
