Dodgers News: Shohei Ohtani’s Insane Surgery Scar Caught on Camera

Shohei Ohtani and his team haven’t shared much information on his offseason elbow surgery. We know it was to repair a torn UCL, and we know it will sideline him from pitching until the 2025 season.

Ohtani and his agent, Nez Balelo, elected not to go into detail on the surgery, but the two-way star did say at his introductory press conference in Dec. that it was “completely different” from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in 2018.

The Dodgers, of course, got all the medical records, and CEO Stan Kasten said this to Dodgers Nation at the introductory press conference:

“We’ve seen all the medical records and spoken to all the doctors. We’ve been told that he’s going to be just fine. And it is not a thing to really worry about. Obviously we believed it because of our investment.”

So, there’s clearly not much worry about the surgery or injury, which makes sense considering the Dodgers are paying him $700 million over the next decade.

However, at DodgerFest over the weekend, the MLB world got their first look at Ohtani’s scar from his surgery — and it’s something else.

In his interview, Ohtani said he’s “very confident” he’ll be ready to DH come Opening Day in South Korea.

Just two days after DodgerFest, Ohtani was already spotted in Arizona working out at the team’s spring training facility.

Ohtani may be limited to start spring training, but it sounds like he’s on track to be ready to go for the March 20-21 Opening Series in Korea. He may be playing with a pretty gnarly scar, though.
