Dodgers News: Trea Turner On Track to Make Dodgers History

The Dodgers are making history across all ends of their team as they are on track to become the winningest team in the history of the franchise. Being led by top of the lineup with Mookie Betts, Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman can make any team tremble, but Turner in the middle is close to making history for the team.

Turner secured three runs in the victory over the Brewers on Wednesday to help solidify the series win. An astounding effort all around for the team, but Turner is currently on track to finish the season with 105 runs and 112 RBI’s.

If the Dodgers were on the fence about extending their shortstop, this might be the reason to keep him especially with Turner seemingly wanting to remain a part of the team ahead of free agency. Turner is on pace for an all-time season for the Dodgers.

Turner currently is sixth in the league in batting average (.311) and RBI’s (85). Turner finds a way to make plays for his team, put points on the board and has done so all season long.

It would be shocking to see Turner take a huge dip towards the end of the season, but if his level of play is any indication of how the postseason will look the Dodgers are in great hands. An exciting time to be a Dodgers fan and to be apart of the team as the contagious play all-around only makes the next man-up that much better.

How the Current Dodgers Hot Streak Compares to Similar 2013 and 2017 Streaks

  1. Either he doesn’t want to stay or they don’t want to sign another big long-term contract. This should have been taken care of by now. It’s not like Bogaerts, Correa, Swanson et al are going to be much cheaper at this point and he’s outplaying them anyway.

    1. Actually they couldn’t sign him because of other contracts, one like David Price who falls off at end of year. Also at the time with Bauer’s legal issues. I read as early as November they can start making a deal. Magic Johnson said the Dodgers will match any offer, it’s up to Trea if he wants to stay. And please don’t say he wants to play on the East Coast only. Not true. He shut down that rumor 2 months ago

    2. It sounded like he was ambivalent when he first arrived and didn’t want to talk about it. He was a close friend with Soto, but now he knows he won’t be playing with him again, at least not in San Diego. But after playing with the Ds for a season and a half he now sees this is the best place for him, with a long term contract beside Freddie and Mookie. It would be a tandem that would bring a dynasty, and it very well could and should happen.

    3. He would like to stay but the Dodger organization has not offered him an extension yet. They most likely will wait until the season is over. We do NOT, speaking as a fan, want Correa playing for us.

      1. I totally agree never want a cheater on our team and most real fans won’t like him after what he did .
