Dodgers News: Walker Buehler Really Does Not Want to Miss All of 2023

The Dodgers have been without starting pitcher Walker Buehler all season as he recovers from Tommy John Surgery. It has been a big loss for the team, as Buehler had become one of the better pitchers in the game.

There is hope that Buehler could make his return to the mound this season, and he has started ramping up for it.

Both LA and Buehler don’t want to rush things, but getting the pitcher back into the rotation would be huge for the Dodgers. Buehler recently talked about his desire to pitch this season.

“Every year that we get to do this for a living is such a blessing,” he said. “So for me to be able to touch a mound would be a huge thing and make 2023 not a complete throwaway. It’s hard to take years off your career, right? We only get to do this for so long. I’m happy to be a part of this organization and this team. I guess in some way I want to be a part of this team and not just the organization.”

You have to feel for Buehler because he just wants to help his guys out. He has been a major vocal supporter of the team all season long, so he wants a chance to contribute.

Buehler could give the Dodgers another solid option in the rotation come playoff time if he were to return. He has been known to be one of the more clutch players in baseball, so his presence alone would be massive.

Dodger fans should be ecstatic if Buehler can return. Not only would Buehler making his return this season help 2023, but it would also help put to bed any concerns heading into next season.

Seeing him pitch this year could provide some clarity into his future, and it would be a giant step forward for all involved.

Buehler is also due to be a free agent in 2025, so any extra reps could give him an advantage in trying to get as much money as possible. If he can show that he is back, he could be in line for a big payday.

We all hope to see Buehler out there sooner rather than later, and hope he gets the chance to help the Dodgers try to win another World Series.
