Dodgers News: Yoshinobu Yamamoto Now Won’t Be At Rams Game With Shohei Ohtani Thursday Night

After reports circulated that Yoshinobu Yamamoto would be at the Rams game with Shohei Ohtani on Thursday night, plans have reportedly changed. Yamamoto will not be in attendance for the game alongside the Dodgers’ superstar.

Ohtani has been actively recruiting Yamamoto to join him on the Dodgers, as he’s the No. 1 free agent on the market. The Dodgers are competing with other big-market teams for Ohtani, namely the New York Yankees and Mets.

Sources told Dodgers Nation that Yamamoto was put on the guest list, but is unable to make the game. It’s possible Ohtani invited him to the game, but he wasn’t able to make it on Thursday night.

The Dodgers are reportedly planning an offer around $250 million to $300 million for Yamamoto, per Jack Harris of the LA Times.

Ohtani has been doing his best to recruit Yamamoto to Los Angeles, but at this point, no one knows where he’s going to sign.

Many reports have said the Dodgers and Yankees are “co-favorites” for Yamamoto, but he hasn’t done anything to suggest that’s the case.

While Yamamoto won’t be with Ohtani on Thursday night at Sofi Stadium, the Dodgers very much remain in the race to sign him.

Under the terms of MLB’s posting agreement with NPB, Yamamoto has until Jan. 4 to sign a contract.

    1. Yes.

Way to go. You guys ruined a possible meeting between Ohtani and Yamamoto by publicizing this beforehand. You guys are so stupid!!

  1. I say the Dodgers offer him the very most they can afford on condition of signing immediately and if he turn is down then consider that he and his agent are only using them to get the max money from someone else, either the Yankees or the Mets. It may not be Yamamoto but its for sure his agent…

  2. Yamamoto Now Won’t Be At Rams Game? This was reported as being false news. Misleading headline as it implies he changed his mind, when going to the game was never on his mind.
