Dodgers Notes: LA Makes Big Roster Move, Linked to Blockbuster Trade, Shohei Ohtani Torpedo Bat

The Los Angeles Dodgers are unbeaten no more, as the team fell to the Philadelphia Phillies, 3-2, on Friday night.

The Dodgers were without All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman, who was placed on the injured list. L.A. called up a young catcher to replace him on the active roster.

In more roster news, the Dodgers were recently named the best landing spot for a Cy Young pitcher in a potential blockbuster trade.

And finally, Shohei Ohtani spoke about the new torpedo bats, and whether or not he would use one.

  1. Yes to Alcantara. Yes to Kyle Tucker in free agency. [Can he play CF for 2 years until Teoscar’s contract is up?] Pages is not a center fielder and they have no room for him as a corner outfielder this year, except to occasionally platoon with Conforto who was leading the team in OPS after Saturday. Pages is not even hitting. Luis Robert, Jr. is not hitting. Maybe Edman to CF and Kike to 2B once Freddie comes back. Or Kike to CF once Freddie comes back. Pages is not going to cut it in CF, or at the plate, or on the basepaths. He needs another year at AAA. Hope looks good but he is 2 years away. He looks like Joe Morgan but a little shorter and more muscular. If they are not going to get any production from CF then at least have a good fielder out there. They still have an excess of talent as starting pitchers to use in trade, and Dalton Rushing, and others, but I don’t see who is out there as a CF replacement right now.
