Dodgers Notes: Mookie Betts Scratched From Lineup, Freddie Freeman Update, Opening Day Starter Announced
The Los Angeles Dodgers received unfortunate news ahead of their final three spring games before continuing the regular season as superstar Mookie Betts was scratched from the starting lineup less than two hours before the start of the game.
As fans will still have to wait to see Betts back in action, World Series MVP Freddie Freeman was able to return from his rib injury that sidelined him for the first two games of the regular season and play in the Freeway Series.
Although the trio of games against the Angels don’t count, the Dodgers open up the North American portion of the regular season March 27. The domestic Opening Day starter has been revealed as he will be facing off against reigning American League Cy Young award winner Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers.
