Dodgers Notes: Shohei Ohtani Away From Team, LA Makes Multiple Roster Moves, Bullpen’s Secret Weapon

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Texas Rangers, 3-0, to kick off a three-game series in the stadium where they won the 2020 World Series. Los Angeles improved to 15-6 and won their fourth straight game thanks to seven scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts from Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

The Friday evening win, however, was without three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani in the dugout. He is not currently with the team and is on paternity leave as he and his wife are expecting their first child together.

Additionally, the Dodgers made a few roster moves, including a right-hander to bolster the bullpen. The pitcher was acquired mere hours before Opening Day and looks to make the most of his imminent debut for Los Angeles.

Finally, Dave Roberts recently raved about one of the Dodgers’ secret weapons in the bullpen.
