Dodgers Notes: Shohei Ohtani Return Date Revealed, Another Reliever to Injured List, Roki Sasaki Velocity Down

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Texas Rangers Saturday, 4-3, and moved to 15-7 on the season.

Luckily, the Dodgers are planning to finish the series against the Rangers with Shohei Ohtani back in the lineup Sunday. It will be his first game as a father since he and his wife announced Saturday that they have welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world.

In more of the same news for Dodgers pitchers this year, another effective piece has landed on the injured list. The right-hander missing time definitely stings as he was one of L.A.’s most effective bullpen arms in 2024.

Finally, Roki Sasaki felt his velocity was down in the first inning of the eventual loss to the Rangers, but later revealed why. The uncharacteristic speed was corrected as the game went on, but the phenom still had his reasons for the dip.
