Dodgers Rumors: Insider Predicts LA Trades for Corbin Burnes, Willy Adames This Offseason
As the Dodgers offseason starts to get into full swing, they are expected to be one of the more active teams in baseball. LA will be looking to bring in more talent to their roster, namely within their starting rotation this winter.
One name that has been floating around the Dodgers recently is starter Corbin Burnes of the Milwaukee Brewers. Burnes and the Brewers have been at odds since last offseason when Milwaukee was stingy with his arbitration asking price, leading many to believe he could be dealt.
LA will be searching far and wide to upgrade their starting rotation, both on the trade market and in free agency. But Burnes seems like a great choice for them, and they have been linked together for a while now. MLB writer Brandon Scott of Bleacher Report is predicting that Burnes will be dealt to LA this offseason.
“His name has been floated in trade rumors seemingly for years, but this is when the deal finally gets done. The Dodgers whiffed badly in free agency last year, and their starting pitching took a precipitous fall from 2022.”
Per Brandon Scott of Bleacher Report
Getting Burnes would give the Dodgers a true ace-level pitcher, and it would instantly bolster their rotation. He would also likely be open to signing in LA long-term, and the Dodgers could lock down one of the better starters in the league.
In the same piece by Scott, BR predicted that Milwaukee would also send shortstop Willy Adames to the Dodgers this offseason. This would likely be in a packaged deal with Burnes, giving LA a major headline trade.
“He’s been an elite defensive shortstop with reliable power in the middle of the Brewers’ lineup. The only shortstop with more home runs than Adames since 2021 is Corey Seager, the Dodgers’ former shortstop who just won World Series MVP with the Texas Rangers.”
Per Brandon Scott of Bleacher Report
Adames would give them a true shortstop for next season, and while they do have Gavin Lux returning, nobody knows for sure how he will perform. LA could upgrade the position and then have more depth to ease Lux back this year, potentially having him go back to second base. Last season with the Brewers, Adames hit .217 with 24 home runs and 80 runs batted in.
If the Dodgers were to land both of these players in a deal this winter, it would be massive. This would likely be the blockbuster deal of the offseason, and put LA in prime position to make a World Series run in 2024.

Oh no, an insider is on the loose again but Corbin Barnes would be a great addition to the rotation
If they sign Yamoto, they won’t need Burns
Why not both?
Both would not be bad!
Burnes yes, Frontline starters are for sure needed for 2024. There is plenty of talent to trade to get him. If he does not re-sign after the year, many others are coming back from surgery, and others coming up from AAA. But get him for 2024.
Adames no. He hit .217. Give Lux a chance.
Hmmm, Adames at short who batted .217, and Muncy at 3rd who batted .212. However, between them they did hit 60 homeruns. Maybe it could work. Plus, having Adames at short could save Muncy’s bacon defensively at 3rd. Right now, the name of the game for the Dodgers is Pitching, Pitching, and more Pitching. As Vinny used to say “Good pitching will stop good hitting any day.”
