Dodgers Rumors: MLB Insider Outlines What Dylan Cease Trade May Look Like for LA
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ main objective this offseason is to acquire starting pitching.
The team will look to do so during the free agency period; however, they could also try to make a trade for a high-level pitcher. The trade market this offseason is loaded with talent. Technically, anyone can be traded, but only a handful are on the block, and only a few are aces who can change the dynamic of the LA rotation. Luckily, for the Dodgers, there are some realistic options to choose from.
One of their top targets is former All-MLB 2022 second-team ace from the Chicago White Sox, Dylan Cease. It’s no secret the Dodgers have their eyes on Cease, but it’s no guarantee he will be dealt to LA — and even if he is, the price will be hefty, at least according to MLB insider and former general manager Jim Bowden.
What Would the Dodgers Have to Give Up for Dylan Cease?
Bowden describes what a deal for Cease may look like.
“At the very least, the White Sox would get two top-10 prospects and one top-15 to top-25 prospect too. It would take a strong package from a good farm system.”
per Jim Bowden via The Athletic
For the Boys in Blue, that would mean dealing with one of the top 10 prospects from Dalton Rushing, Michael Busch, Diego Cartaya, Andy Pages, or River Ryan, to name a few.
From the top 15, that would mean Kyle Hurt, Joendry Vargas, Kendall George, or Jake Gelof. And in the top 25, that ranges from prospects like Chris Newell, Peter Heubeck, or Jose Ramos.
Giving up prospects may be tough, but for the Los Angeles Dodgers, it shouldn’t be. They are able to develop talent like no other. If what Bowden says is true, LA shouldn’t hesitate to give up their prospects for Cease.
The window for LA to win is now, and the young guys won’t be able to cut it for another few years. The Dodgers cannot waste any more time. They are in dire need of starting pitching, and the 27-year-old pitching would be a great start in that direction.

The Dodgers do not need to give away the farm. They have saved enough money to mostly obtain free agents.
Hey all dodgers fans we have been telling Friedman he has a pitching problem for the last three years however Friedman has told the fans to go to hell. Ifm the dodgers have the best farm system than where are all the pitchers. The will never win a world series with Friedman and Roberts call the shots.
LMAO they are definitely not giving away that much for Cease.
Trade for Cease is just half. Luis Robert Jr. also needs to be included. White Sox get, M. Busch, River Ryan, Justin Wrobleski, Andy Pages & Diego Cartaya or Josue DePaula.
