Dodgers Score: LA Gets First Win of the Cactus League Season Over Cubs

In the Dodgers’ second game of Spring Training, the team was able to pull out a come-from-behind 9-4 win over the Chicago Cubs.

After being introduced to the new changes during yesterday’s game, the Dodgers had to quickly learn how to adjust to both the pitching clock and the timer for batters.

Early in the game, Shelby Miller was struck with a few calls while Chris Taylor was also given a strike before he even saw a pitch.

In his Dodger debut, Miller didn’t impress all too much. The former Giants pitcher gave up 3 runs on 3 hits in 2/3 of an inning. But luckily, it’s early Spring and the former All-Star has time to get his stuff together before Opening Day.

Brusador Graterol on the other hand had a successful afternoon in Glendale:

Offensively, the team struggled to put up runs as the Cubs got an early 4-0 lead. But the 6th inning is where things started to turn around for the Dodgers.

First Chris Taylor singled to right field bringing in Johnny DeLuca followed by another base hit from Drew Avans to score Ryan Ward.

In the next inning, LA farm product Hunter Feduccia hit a beautiful three-run homer to take the 5-4 lead over the Cubs.

But the fun didn’t stop there. The bats really got hot as the Dodgers went on to put together four more runs to end the game with a 9-4 win over Chicago.

It was a big day for the Dodgers as it proved the talent of the next generation of players and also lifted the spirits of fans after the 7-5 loss yesterday.

In other news, Miguel Rojas exited the game with what looked like a foot cramp in the bottom of the third inning. But fortunately, there was no injury and he looks like he’ll be good for tomorrow.

This was the team’s first win of the year and also their first win at Camelback Ranch. The action will resume tomorrow as they will take on the Padres at Peoria Stadium. The first pitch will be at 12:10 P.M. and Ryan Pepiot will face off against the Padres’ Nabil Chrismatt.

It’s good to be back!
