Dodgers Score: Live Game Updates vs Phillies on Friday, Victor Gonzalez Opener, Jonny DeLuca in Lineup

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in Philadelphia for a three-game series with the Phillies this weekend. The Dodgers are coming off a disappointing series in Cincinnati, but they were able to escape with a dominant win in the finale.

The Dodgers are going with an opener against the Phillies on Friday in Victor Gonzalez, but Michael Grove will replace him probably after the first inning. On the Phillies side of thing, LHP Ranger Suarez is taking the mound.

Here’s a look at the lineup Dave Roberts is sending out against the Phillies’ southpaw.

The Dodgers are pounding the right-handers in the lineup with the lefty Ranger Suarez on the mound. Jonny DeLuca is getting his second opportunity, while Chris Taylor is in the outfield and Miguel Rojas is at shortstop.

Pitching Matchup

Victor Gonzalez is the opener for this one, as the Phillies have lefties Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper towards the top of their lineup. However, after the first inning, Michael Grove is likely to come in, and should give the Dodgers some length.

He looked great in his last outing outside of two mistake pitches to Jake Bauers, so he’ll hope to pick up where he left off while limiting the mistakes.

As for Suarez, he’s been struggling this season overall, but has had two great starts over his last two appearances, pitching 13.2 innings and allowing just three runs. He’ll hope to continue that dominance against a red-hot Dodgers lineup.
