Dodgers Select Pitcher Nabil Crismatt, Place Kyle Hurt on 60-Day IL in Series of Moves

Before the Dodgers’ second game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, the team announced a series of roster moves. This includes the team selecting the contract of right-hander Nabil Crismatt and placing right-hander Kyle Hurt on the 60-day injured list.

Los Angeles also optioned left-hander Nick Ramirez.

Crismatt was with the team earlier in the year, appearing in one game. He threw two scoreless innings for Los Angeles, striking out three batters. If he can perform well, he may be able to carve out a small place for himself in the bullpen.

As for Hurt, he will be out for the foreseeable future now. He has thrown 6.2 innings for Los Angeles this season, posting an ERA of 1.35 during that time.

Hurt is the Dodgers’ No. 9 ranked prospect, per Dodgers Nation’s preseason rankings, and has made his mark on the team when healthy. The hope is that he can return later in the year to give the Dodgers a nice punch out of the bullpen for the stretch run.

Ramirez has thrown seven innings for the Dodgers this season, posting an ERA of 1.29 during that time. The veteran left-hander has looked good in his five appearances but the Dodgers must have felt that they could use the services of Crismatt even more.

He will likely be back with the team at some point later in the season.
