Dodgers Send Congratulations to LAFC for Bringing a Championship Back to LA

Los Angeles is the city of champions. Teams that represent this town with pride have shown that throughout the decades. And on Saturday, the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) of Major League Soccer were crowned champions of their league. The club defeated Philadephia Union, 3-0 in penalties at the Banc of California Stadium.

The Dodgers paid their respects to the new MLS champions via Twitter.

LAFC joins an elite group as they become the fourth team in professional sports to bring a championship to Los Angeles in the last two years.

Of course, the Dodgers were one of those teams winning the 2020 World Series in six games over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Lakers also brought home their 17th title in franchise history when they won in 2020, and the Los Angeles Rams captured their second title, but first in the city of LA in 2022 as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 56.

Part-owner of the Dodgers, Los Angeles sports icon and NBA legend Magic Johnson is also the owner of LAFC. He shared on Instagram how happy he is to become a champion again.

At the end of his caption, Magic said, “…. what’s next???”. Well, hopefully, another title for the Los Angeles Dodgers next season.

From Dodgers Nation, we congratulate LAFC for capturing their first-ever MLS title. For many more to come, enjoy your moment.
