Dodgers Social Media: Top 5 Theme Games of the Season | VIDEO

It’s been a long offseason, but the MLB season is almost here! We count down the Top 5 Theme Games of the Los Angeles Dodgers 2016 season, and the special giveaways fans can receive.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will open the 2016 season in San Diego on Monday April 4th at 7:05 P.M. facing off against the Padres. The Dodgers will then host their home opener on Tuesday April 12th at 4:10 P.M. versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

With so many games in a season it’s good to plan ahead, aside from having awesome giveaways this year the Dodgers have some theme games worth checking out. So, we countdown the Top 5 Theme Games of the Dodgers 2016 season.

No. 5: Tuesday, April 26 vs. Miami Marlins, 7:10 P.M. – USC Night

• So as an alum I had to put this on the list, but for fairness I will mention UCLA night is 4/28.
• Ticket package includes a commemorative USC themed Dodgers t-shirt. This is not a stadium wide giveaway.
• The Trojan marching band is sure to make an appearance.
• Join USC fans and cheer on the Dodgers, because college nights are always fun.
• The Dodgers are planning on this event selling out, and advise to purchase tickets early!

No. 4: Saturday, July 9 vs. San Diego Padres, 4:15 P.M. – Pups at the Park

• Pups at the Park! Last year Yasiel Pug made his appearance at Pups at the Park and it was epic!
• Purchase a special event ticket in the right field pavilion and you get All-You-Can-Eat privileges. Think of all the Dodger Dogs!
• Participate in the Pregame Pup Parade, which last year was featured on TWC SportsNet LA.
• A portion of the process will be donated to Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation.

No. 3: Tuesday, May 24 vs. Cincinnati Reds, 7:10 P.M. – Military Appreciation Night

• This will be the Dodgers first annual Military Appreciation Night honoring all of our armed forces.
• Ticket gives fans an exclusive  Dodgers’ Military Appreciation Night t-shirt. This is not a stadium wide giveaway.
• Special pregame dedicated to honor our Military.
• All-You-Can-Eat Pavilion tickets available: Unlimited nachos, Dodger Dogs, Coke products etc.

No. 2: Friday, August 12 vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 7:10 P.M. – L.A. Kings Night

• Fans who purchase an event ticket receive a co-branded L.A. Kings-Dodger reversible scarf! This is not a stadium wide giveaway.
• Stay after the game for Friday Night Fireworks.
• Only right the Kings get ranked so high. They hosted their own Dodgers Night at Staples Center and represented the Dodgers proud!

No. 1: Monday, August 8 vs. Philadelphia Phillies, 7:10 P.M. – L.A. Lakers Night

• I know the Lakers have had some rough years, but lets be honest they still run L.A. However, for fairness I will mention Clippers night is 9/19.
• Fans who attend must purchase an event ticket to be eligible to receive the giveaway. This is not a stadium wide giveaway.
• The Dodgers are giving out an exclusive co-branded Lakers-Dodgers hat.
• With Lakers’ super star Kobe Bryant’s career coming to a close in 2016 only right the Dodgers host Lakers night against Philadelphia where the Black Mamba was born.
• Who knows he might be there to throw out the first pitch?

Honorable mention and back by popular demand is Star Wars Night, which will be held Friday July 29th vs. the Diamondbacks.

This didn’t make the list because it stands on it’s own, and details are still to come. What we do know is that the Dodgers are planning to hand out a Star Wars-Dodgers themed giveaway.
