Dodgers Sticking With Stars for Showdown vs. Rays: Lineup

The Los Angeles Dodgers released their lineup for the first of three games against the Tampa Bay Rays at Dodgers Stadium.

The Rays have the second-best record in the American League this season, posting a 41-27 record, only trailing their division’s leaders, the New York Yankees.

Los Angeles enters the series on the back of their first series loss since May 10, losing two games over the weekend against the Chicago White Sox.

Who is Starting for the Dodgers?

Left-hander Eric Lauer is making his fourth start for the Dodgers on Monday, and will look to keep up his run of solid results since coming to the reigning World Series Champions. Through his 16.1 innings pitched, Lauer has a 2.76 ERA.

His last outing came on the road against the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he pitched 5.2 innings and recovered after allowing two early home runs.

Who is in the Dodgers’ Lineup?

Designated hitter Shohei Ohtani remains at the top of the Dodgers’ lineup, and center fielder Andy Pages will bat second, just as he has for most of the last few weeks. First baseman Freddie Freeman is third in the order, followed by cleanup hitter Mookie Betts.

Third baseman Max Muncy occupies the fifth spot, and corner outfielders Kyle Tucker and Ryan Ward will follow him. Dalton Rushing remains as the Dodgers’ primary catcher while Will Smith sits on the injured list, and second baseman Alex Freeland rounds out the order.

Nick Martinez is on the mound for the Rays, and will aim to continue his unbelievable start to the year for Tampa Bay.

Martinez has well over performed his expected numbers, and has just a 2.43 ERA through 77.2 innings pitched. A career 4.02 ERA pitcher, Martinez is performing nearly two runs better than his expected ERA this season. The Dodgers will hope to expose the right-hander as they aim to get back into the win column on Monday. First pitch comes at 7:10 p.m. PT.
