Dodgers: Trevor Bauer Jokes That Manny Machado is Ducking Him
Dodgers fans have a lot of fun to look forward to during the 2021 season. Not only is their lineup STACKED with talent, but Los Angeles also gets to face off against a very good Padres team all year long.
Part of that fun should be the Manny Machado versus Trevor Bauer saga. The two stars have a history dating back to Manny’s time with the Orioles when Trevor was on the Indians. Bauer coming over to the Dodgers has reignited that spark between the two.
After getting to face the Padres for the first time with his new team on Saturday, Trevor couldn’t help but take a jab. The Dodgers pitcher talked about Manny Machado not being in the lineup against him and joked that he was avoiding him.
I’m just mad that Manny didn’t make the trip, you know? He’s already ducking me. I just wanted to face Manny, I wanted to see him. Manny’s ducking me.
It’s tough to tell, but it mostly seems like Bauer is having some light-hearted fun with it. He’s talked in the past about how well Machado has hit him, even doing a full video breakdown for Manny beating him. When he signed with the Dodgers, Trevor said that he saved the best stuff of his career just for Machado this year.
Other Dodgers News
The Dodgers could very well end up having fans in the stands on Opening Day as coronavirus restrictions start to ease. With the possibility of limited capacities, manager Dave Roberts has said that he would be open to continue piping artificial sound into Chavez Ravine.
Chris Taylor is getting more work in at third base this Spring. While the Dodgers have Justin Turner over at the hot corner, he will no doubt need some days off at age 36. Having CT3 along with Rios should make for an interesting combination all season long.
