Dodgers Schedule: Keibert Ruiz and David Price On Track to Debut Next Week

Dodgers fans have been waiting a long time to see David Price pitch for them. Aside from the two Spring Training starts he made prior to the shutdown in 2020, they have not yet gotten that opportunity. But the good news is that should be changing this week.

Dave Roberts announced this week that they were on track to have Price throw in a Cactus League game next week. This comes just a few days after Roberts admitted the Dodgers were slow-playing his return to game action after taking the year off.

Price opted out of the 2020 season due to do health concerns during the height of the pandemic. The Dodgers had traded for him in the deal that landed them Mookie Betts. Despite not having pitched a year, the coaching staff believes that he will be a crucial piece in a very good rotation.

Roberts also gave an update on Keibert Ruiz. Pitchers and catchers were supposed to report for camp almost three weeks ago, but a visa issue held Keibert up in his home country. The Dodgers number 2 prospect was not expected to make the Opening Day roster, but the experience he could get at camp is huge.

Ruiz is in Arizona doing his intake testing through MLB right now. He will be able to rejoin the Dodgers within the next day or two, and Roberts is hoping to get him into a game very quickly. Doc has mentioned several times that Keibert is staying in excellent shape despite not being at camp.
